Welcome to Clyde Amateur Rowing Club
Welcome to Clyde Amateur Rowing Club, founded in 1865 and sited at the historic West Boathouse in Glasgow Green.  Situated a beat away from the heart of the city, Clyde Amateur Rowing Club invites you to join us in experiencing one of the most underused but spectacular amenities on Glasgow’s doorstep!

Whether you’ve rowed at the Olympics or have never sat in a rowing boat before, Clyde ARC is the place to row in Glasgow.  All participation levels are catered for and we especially welcome beginners who want to try their hand for the first time.  There is no requirement to join the club immediately, just come down for a few sessions to see if you enjoy the sporting and social side of the club.

We are a very active club both on and off the water.  Our athletes compete all year round in all types of weather!  Our current membership ranges from elite athletes to beginners, and comprises all age groups and ability levels.  During the spring & summer, training is focused mainly in boats on the river, however during the winter season we can be found making use of our extensive ergometer and weights facilities.  Our boat fleet comprises of single sculls, doubles, pairs, quads, fours and eights.  We also need coaches and coxes to offer vocal encouragement and insight to crews during training and racing (and steer!).

We try to ensure that we don’t get too caught up in our training, and the club has a good social side. Highlights include the annual Summer Barbeque, Burns Supper and Christmas Dinner.  So if you are interested in seeing what Clyde ARC has to offer, contact the captain at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
